This week, from May 18th to May 24th, 2014 is National EMS Week. National EMS Week is held every year in the month of May to honor of the hundreds of thousand Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) and Paramedics across the country for the work they do for the communities they work in. This year marks the 40th annual EMS Week since its inception in 1974.
Glen Cove Volunteer EMS was established in 1985, and has grown to become a fully functioning Advanced Life Support Agency with 4 Advanced Life Support Ambulances and 4 First Response vehicles that respond to over 2,400 calls each year. Glen Cove EMS currently has over 50 active members who respond to calls 24/7 in conjunction with our staff of Paid EMTs, EMT-Critical Cares and Paramedics.
The City of Glen Cove Volunteer EMS would like to thank our members for all of their hard work and we would like to wish all EMS Providers nationwide a happy and safe EMS Week!
